Minutes of the meeting of the Pembroke College Winnie The Pooh Society held at 4pm on Saturday 8th November 1997 in Room 21 at 2 Selwyn Gardens

Present: Gillian, Granny, Rob (of course), Stephen, Ben, Alison, Sandy, Jo, Vicky (not the treasurer), Anthony, Jenny, Warwick, Sibylle (virtually).
Apologies: Sibylle, Jenny, James

1. The meeting is opened by Ben. Rob reads the minutes. Jaffa cakes of poor quality are provided by Ben (from Newnham Co-op).
   


2. Dear Mr Gates... an amusing letter is read by Ben. Apparently it's only a rough draft. Following the reading there is a discussion of appropiate letter heads.
   


3. Anthony arrives.
   


4. Ben proposes a vote that Gillian and Vicky may vote for the duration of the meeting. For 7, Against 0, Abstentions 1.
   


5. Rob attempts to cut up the chocolate cake but is not really successful.
   


6. Vicky surprises us by revealing a set consisting of Rabbit ears and a fluffy tail. Vote: For 8, Against 2, Abstentions 0. Vote to overturn previous motion For 0, Against 3, Abstentions 1.
   


7. The ears etc. are presented to the Society for Rob to wear at Special Society Occasions.
   


8. As usual, the Economy Swiss Roll is opened.
   


9. Ben comments that Anne Campbell wouldn't get very far on a bicycle because she'd keep making U-turns.
   


10. The chapter involving the search for Small is read.
    


11. James arrives!
    


12. Vote to congratulate Ben for his unsettling voice For 5, Against 4, Abstentions 3.
    


13. Vote to congratulate everyone for reading the story well For 12, Against 0, Abstentions 1.
    


14. It is decided that we should go to Trinity College to check the original edition of Pooh because our texts disagree in places. There then follows a discussion concerning very strange males in the Law Library.
    


15. Votes to censure Rob for having a bad Scottish accent For 8, Against 1, Abstentions 5.
    


16. Vote to allow Warwick to vote for the duration of the meeting For 8, Against 2, Abstentions 1.
    


17. Votes for the motion, but not for anything in particular: For 2, Against 7, Abstentions 2.
    


18. Ben surprises us by writing something. It is all about the forthcoming formal hall of war.
    


19. Vote to censure Vicky (the treasurer) for steadfastly not turning up etc. and being a general Eyeore For 8, Against 2, Abstentions 1.
    


20. Rob phones Sibylle.
    


21. Votes to close the meeting For 1, Against 8, Abstentions 3.
    


22. Vote to censure Rob even though he has been wearing his new attachments through most of the meeting For 7, Against 0, Abstentions 2.
    


23. Votes to close the meeting: For 7, Against 3, Abstentions 2. Meeting is now closed.
